FAQ

What is Longarm Quilting?

Longarm quilting is referring to the type of machine used to quilt a quilt. The longarm is any sewing machine with a throat deeper than 22 inches. For comparison, my machine has 30 inch clearance and is the largest on the market today. Most domestic sewing machines having 5-6 inches of throat space.

What is your machine?

I have a Gamill 30″ Optimum with the Statler Stitcher computer system. I can use this system to provide really great quilting techniques, at an affordable price. My domestic machines I use are both Berninas.

What do you actually do for clients?

With my machine, I actually do the process of quilting for them. The customer brings me their top, batting, and backing and I provide the means to quilt those pieces together using a chosen design. If a customer only has their top, I can provide (for additional charge) batting and backing.

I use edge to edge (E2E) quilting patterns to create a finished product and am not offering custom designs at this time to keep clients costs down.

Do you make t-shirt quilts?

At this time, i am not offering piecing (the process of creating the top of a quilt) due to immense time they take to create and I want to focus on my longarm machine. In the future, I may add that to my resume. If someone already has tops created I would be more than happy to quilt the tops!
